Support CBLDF on #GivingTuesday!

The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes a chance to reflect on the year that’s passed and to plan for the year ahead. This week, CBLDF is doing both. We’re also asking for your support on Giving Tuesday so we can continue our work for the right to read in the future!

Why does CBLDF work so hard for the right to read comics? Let’s take a look:

giving tuesday cbldfDecember is the most important fundraising month for CBLDF. We receive more than a quarter of our annual budget in year-end gifts from supporters like you. If CBLDF is in your charitable plans this month, we thank you. If you are still finalizing your charitable giving plans, we ask you to please consider our worthy efforts. Donations to CBLDF are fully tax deductible in the year they are given.  Please help CBLDF continue our important work by making a donation today, either by giving a holiday gift of a signed or personalized graphic novel, becoming a member, or making a tax-deductible cash contribution.

Our Annual Report outlines all of the tremendous work we accomplished in 2013, and at 5:30 p.m. EST today, Jeff Smith (Bone, RASL) and Gene Luen Yang (American Born Chinese, Boxers & Saints) will be joining us for a #GivingTuesday Mashable / Google+ Hangout-a-thon, during which we’ll discuss the Fund’s important work. You can RSVP for the #GivingTuesday Mashable / Google+ Hangout-a-thon with Jeff Smith And Gene Yang here.

Please take a moment this Giving Tuesday to support the important work of CBLDF! Your contributions will help us fight the censorship of comics and help us educate people about our amazing medium in 2014!

About Giving Tuesday
Established in 2012, Giving Tuesday brings together global charities, families, community centers, students, and more for a day of giving. This year, Giving Tuesday will be held on Tuesday, December 3. Google+ will provide an opportunity for individuals to give back in the first-ever Hangout-a-thon, a 12-hour event in which viewers will be able to get involved and donate to more than 25 charities directly from a hangout.

About Google+
Google+ is a sharing and communications platform that brings your real-world friendships and relationships online for a fun, interactive experience–as well as lets you make new friends and connections with people who share your passions and interests. Much more than a social network, Google+ makes it even easier to use other Google products, share content, and use integrated text and video chat–all for free.
