CBLDF’s work is vitally needed. This year our legal team has already been deployed to help artists and educators who need our help in First Amendment emergencies. We’re actively working to help strike down unconstitutional laws. Perhaps most importantly, we’re developing major education initiatives to support our community. We will visit retailers on their home turf to help them understand how to protect their rights in subtle everyday ways. We will create practical resources about the rights and responsibilities of being a creator. We will acquaint younger citizens with a full understanding of how the First Amendment intersects with their lives as they raise their voices for the first time in a perilous climate. We can’t do this important work without you!

Retail Membership
Independent comic book, manga, and book retailers are a vital part of today’s comic book culture. Unfortunately, they are also often the first to be attacked when censorship rears its ugly head.
Since CBLDF was founded in 1986, retailers have been among the Fund’s strongest supporters, and retailers perform a valuable service by providing comics to their local communities and educating consumers. They’re also among the first to support their brethren when they come under attack, and many are doing so as Retailer Members of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Sign up your store to be a member!
