In 1986, when Denis Kitchen and the comics community formed the CBLDF, it was to pay the legal fees for a retailer selling comics at Friendly Frank’s. The retailer was arrested for the sale of several comics; one of them was Heavy Metal Magazine. We are honored to be continuing that legacy of connection. Heavy Metal continues to push the envelope of science-fiction and fantasy, and we’ll continue protecting the rights of retailers and fans to read those comics.
