by Betsy Gomez

The CBLDF is kicking the year off right, with some amazing items from our archives! From classic books that every library needs to books signed by some of the greatest authors and artists to work in comics, this round of auctions has something for every fan!

In 1986, Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiewicz rocked the comics world with the release of the brilliant and provocative mini-series Elektra: Assassin. With groundbreaking, painted expressionist artwork, and a story that mixes politics, psychology, and intense characterizations, this was on the vanguard of an important new era of superhero comics that included Watchmen, Arkham Asylum, and The Dark Knight Returns.

Direct from Frank Miller’s personal library, this edition of Elektra: Assassin is the original, long out-of-print Graphitti Designs hardcover, which is signed by Miller on the cover. This is an Artist Proof from the original limited edition run, and is noted as such on the frontispiece, where it is and signed by both Miller and Sienkeiwicz.

This extremely rare edition of an important graphic novel is truly a centerpiece for any collection.
