June 27, 1997 -- The United States Supreme Court denied Mike Diana's petition for a writ of certiorari, thus ending a three year battle to have his obscenity conviction in the state of Florida overturned.

Planet Comics
September 1997 -- The two-year court battle involving the Oklahoma City comic book store Planet Comics came to a sudden and unexpected end when days before the case was to go to trial the defendants entered a guilty plea.

February 1998 -- Comic creators Lansdale, Truman, and Glanzman fought a civil complaint brought by musicians with the help of the CBLDF and DC Comics--and won.
