Countdown
to Comic-Con, continued...
FRIDAY, AUGUST 14: COMIC-CON DAY TWO
Friday at the CBLDF kicks off an already prodigious artist lineup with
Jeff Loeb, Tim Sale, and Richard Starkings, the creative team behind A
Superman for all Seasons. All Seasons is the DC universe event of the
season, and the Fund is pleased that Loeb, Sale, and Starkings will take
the time out of their busy schedules to do their bit for the Fund. Get
there early, because you know the line is going to be huge for this
extremely talented triumvirate.
At 2:30 Friday, the CBLDF is pleased to host Eddie Campbell, one of this
era's most talented cartoonists and storytellers. Campbell is not only
the artist behind the critically acclaimed From Hell, which has been
optioned for a major motion picture by Oliver Stone, he's the writer and
artist behind the brilliant Alec and Bacchus series. Campbell ranks
among the top masters of comics anytime of anywhere and, as we said of
Eisner, if you haven't read any Campbell, we envy you the discovery that
awaits you! You might start with Graphitti Kitchen, a modern classic
Campbell recently released under his own imprint.
At 4pm Mark Waid is back again, closing out a brilliant Friday with his
unique blend of trivia stumpers and scripting shenanigans.
