Internationally Acclaimed Musician Performs to Benefit CBLDF
Amanda Palmer, the creative force behind Who Killed Amanda Palmer & The Dresden Dolls, is appearing at this year's San Diego Comic-Con to benefit the First Amendment work of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund!
On Friday, July 24 Palmer will appear at two events to benefit the Fund. On Friday night, she headlines a benefit show at the San Diego Women's Club, appearing with Vermillion Lies. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show. Acclaimed graphic novelist Jill Thompson will be creating live art during the event. Vermillion Lies will also be performing. June 24: NYC Member Appreciation Party - Free Open Bar
Kick off the season with your fellow CBLDF Members at the Fund's Summer Member Appreciation Party on Wednesday June 24 at the Village Pourhouse from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Conversational Comics Concludes on August 15
Conversational Comics, the three-panel speaker series sponsored by the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, concludes at host venue Union Pool in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on Saturday, August 15 at 2:00 pm.
Austin English (Windy Corner, Christina and Charles), Lisa Hanawalt (Stay Away From Other People, I Want You) and Dash Shaw (Bottomless Belly Button, Bodyworld) will talk with comics critic Bill Kartalopoulos (Parsons, Print Magazine) about the relationship between image-making and drawing for comics. How do pictures work differently in comics than they do on gallery walls?
