July 28, 1998WildCATS Team Converge at Dreamscape Comics to Benefit CBLDF![]() Northampton, MA -- On Saturday, August 1, Dreamscape Comics in association with Wildstorm Productions will host a charity fund-raising event to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Travis Charest, Richard Friend, and Alex Sinclair, the new art team for the upcoming re-launch of WildCATS, will be on-hand to meet fans and sign a new limited-edition lithograph featuring the re-vamped WildCATS line-up. Dreamscape Comics is one of Southern California's largest comic and pop culture stores. Jim Mugno, Dreamscape's owner, organized the event with the CBLDF in mind. "The main reason a store like mine can exist is because of the CBLDF," he said. "They protect the freedom of expression, whether through graphic images or the text which accompanies them. I take pride in providing a wide array of products which exercise this freedom."
In addition to organizing the event, Mugno coordinated the production of the WildCATS lithographs. Each high-quality art print is full-color and measures 16" by 20". The lithograph is limited to 500 copies, each of which will be signed in the store by Charest, Friend, and Sinclair. The lithographs cost $15.00 each. A second run of 500 lithographs will also be available at the CBLDF's booth at the International Comic-Con in San Diego. Charest, Friend, and Sinclair will sign the prints in person at the Fund's booth on Saturday, August 15 from 2 to 4 pm. They'll be joined by new WildCATS writer Scott Lobdell, best known for his work on Marvel's Uncanny X-Men. "Jim Mugno is the bridge that brought the Fund and Wildstorm together," said CBLDF executive director Chris Oarr. "His generosity and desire to support our cause set all of this in motion." A portion of the proceeds from the event at Dreamscape will also benefit the Orangewood Children's Home, which provides shelter and protection for children in Orange County. Mugno spent time at the home as a child, and is eager to show his gratitude for the support the organization provided him and his family. Dreamscape Comics offers a wide variety of new and back issue comic books, movie memorabilia, celebrity autographs, non-sport and sport cards, action figures, statues, and much more. The store is located at 350 South Tustin Avenue in Orange, CA. The charity signing will be held on August 1st from 2 to 4 pm.
