November 20, 1999MAKING WAVES: Comic Retailers On Deck!
MAKING WAVES is the event of a lifetime for anyone who loves comics. On board, Neal Adams, Kurt Busiek, Dan Clowes, Evan Dorkin, Sarah Dyer, Will Eisner, Neil Gaiman, Jaime and Gilbert Hernandez, Frank Miller, Brian Pulido, P. Craig Russell, Jeff Smith, Adrian Tomine, Matt Wagner, Mark Waid, and more seafaring stars will join up to 200 fans and comics professionals for a week-long luxury cruise on the Mexican Riviera. All proceeds from the event benefit the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. MAKING WAVES departs APRIL 9 from LOS ANGELES with ports of call in Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, and Mazatlan. The cruise will feature cocktail parties, slide shows, panel discussions, seminars, and much more comics programming. Cruise-goers will also be able to sign up for dinners and drinks with all the attending pros to guarantee time for some quality conversation. Of course, this is in addition to all the informal hanging-out in the ship's bars, pools, sundecks, restaurants, and casinos.
