Tonight in NYC, the Society of Illustrators and Comic Book Legal Defense Fund are celebrating the Dark Knight with a free opening reception, featuring the inimitable Chip Kidd and other special guests!
Celebrate the current Society of Illustrators exhibit “Chip Kidd Presents: Batman Black and White: The Sketch Covers.” The exhibit collects Batman: Black and White sketch covers that Kidd gathered over the course of three years and features original work from comics superstars Alex Ross, Art Spiegelman, Lee Weeks, and many more.
The reception begins at 6:00 p.m. and features a cash bar for attendees. It will take place at the Society of Illustrators gallery, located at 128 East 63rd Street (between Park and Lexington Avenues), New York, NY 10065. More details: http://tinyurl.com/p3okt5v
The reception is the second of three events celebrating “Chip Kidd Presents: Batman Black and White.” The first has already passed, but on October 30, 2015, 6:00 p.m., you can join the Society for Illustrators for the Batman: Halloween Eve Black and White Party. Founded in 1901, the Society of Illustrators is the oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to the art of illustration in America.
