This Wednesday, December 7, CBLDF Editorial Director Betsy Gomez will lead a round-table discussion and signing with some of the women who changed comics — Trina Robbins (Wimmen’s Comix, Pretty in Ink), Lee Mars (Pudge, Girl Blimp), and Mariko Tamaki (This One Summer) — at The Booksmith in San Francisco.
The event celebrates She Changed Comics, CBLDF’s history of the women who changed free expression in comics. She Changed Comics is an educational resource that profiles more than 60 groundbreaking female professionals who changed the format, including women who have been imprisoned, threatened, or banned for their work, and includes interviews with the women who are changing still changing the medium today.
The event kicks off at 7:30 at The Booksmith (1644 Haight St, San Francisco, California 94117). Get more details and RSVP on the Facebook event page here.
If you can’t join us in San Francisco, She Changed Comics is available online in CBLDF’s Rewards Zone, via comiXology, and at comics retailers and bookstores around the country!
