3E2CE3C1-FF04-49A7-B942-434FC007819AIt’s never to early to start getting excited for CBLDF’S popular San Diego Comic Con Live Art Jam! Scott Dunbier, Special Projects Senior Editor at IDW has been showing off a special project for the 2020 Jam. According to Bleeding Cool Dunbier says it is “a work in progress,” but clearly already features character sketches by Bill Sienkiewicz, Frank Cho, Matt Wagner, Jerry Ordway, Walter Simonson, Billy Tucci and Erik Larsen. There were no hints given as to who else might join the supergroup of participating artists, but Dunbier plans on including this in the Live Art Jam’s Auction.

CBLDF’s SDCC Art Jam is a growing favorite at the convention each year. featuring three artists in working on live art while answering questions, it offers an intimate setting that harkens back to Comic Cons of days long past. At the end of each Jam, the pieces are auctioned off to attendees in support of Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and the fight for free expression. Still, even those who leave without art from some of their favorite artists, praise the event as a chance to get to hang out and watch masters of the craft work and chat. Some of the past participants include Gene Luen Yang, Nate Powell, Chris Burnham, Terry Moore, Denis Kitchen, Tom Neely, and many more!
