Toshio Maeda Signs & Personalizes Urotsukidoji to Benefit CBLDF!

a770041f2a2f13f00610802e72f418c1_originalToshio Maeda, the creator of the genre defining hentai manga Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend will be signing and personalizing copies of the definitive English edition published by CBLDF’s newest corporate member FAKKU! This is an unprecedented opportunity to get a personalized autograph from one of the masters of modern horror and erotic manga.

FAKKU! publisher Jacob Grady says, “CBLDF does important work protecting the rights of all of us who love adult manga. At FAKKU! we’re putting our money where our mouth is by being a corporate supporter of their important work. We hope this opportunity will encourage readers in our community to join us in supporting their very valuable work.”

Originally published over 30 years ago, the story follows the unbeatable god of the demon world, who is hiding within the body of a young man. FAKKU has teamed up with the author, Toshio Maeda, to publish a completely remastered edition of the original series. The remastered edition will include color pages and new content that has never been seen before in English. The title was one of the books at the core of CBLDF’s defense of Texas v. Castillo beginning in 1999.

CBLDF provides legal and educational resources to protect the freedom to read comics. The organization’s legal team has aided numerous manga readers facing prosecution for possessing adult manga, including a notable victory in R. v. Matheson. CBLDF produces education tools to help expand appreciation and understanding of manga as a mainstream book category including the Manga Book Club Handbook, released earlier this year, and CBLDF Presents Manga: Introduction, Challenges and Best Practices. Manga readers facing a First Amendment emergency should always make CBLDF their first call for support.
