Talking Comics in Higher Ed with Comics@SDSU

This week, I had the opportunity to sit down for an interview with popular culture librarian/comic arts curator Pamela Jackson and professor of history Elizabeth Pollard of Comics@SDSU. Comics@SDSU is a comics studies collaborative affiliated with San Diego State University. Their goal is to “cultivate innovative teaching, pursue transformative research, and foster vibrant community interaction, especially with regard to the unique power of the comics medium to bring about social change.”

Our discussion covered a variety of topics including, the origin story of Comics@SDSU, creating academic networks, the San Diego State University collection, comics studies programs, and the future of comics in education!

You can watch the conversation below or go over to our YouTube channel, where you can find that video and more.
