YALSA Gives Away 40 Sets of Teens’ Top Ten Nominees

In celebration of the American Library Association’s National Library Week and the Young Adult Library Services Association’s (YALSA) 2016 Teens’ Top Ten, YALSA is giving away 40 sets of this year’s top ten titles.

“The Teens’ Top Ten is a “teen choice” list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year!” notes the YASLA site. “Nominations are posted during National Library Week, and teens across the country are encouraged to read as many nominees as they can over the summer,” adds the ALA.

Culminating in the selection of a single favorite title during Teen Read Week (October 9-15, 2016), one of the goals of the list is to encourage teens to get out to their local libraries and read. In order to help libraries be prepared for the summer reading rush, YALSA, with the help of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, is giving away 40 sets of the 26 books nominated for the top ten list. “With the set of new titles, libraries will not only be able to further enrich their young adult collection but also attract teens to the library,” writes the ALA.
