Free Posters and Resources for Banned Books Week!

(c) Jonathan Hill

Banned Books Week is coming right up next week, September 21-27, and we have some great free resources for librarians, teachers, retailers, and anyone else who wants to celebrate!

First, the posters. That beauty at right featuring characters from banned and challenged comics comes to us courtesy of Jonathan Hill and First Second Books. In addition, scroll down to see a Bone poster that we adapted from Jeff Smith’s cover for our Banned Books Week Handbook.

Feel free to use either or both for displays, websites, or social media! Here are some high-res downloads:

And don’t forget our other resources! The Banned Books Week Handbook is available as a free download. The handbook includes ideas for events and displays, information about what comics are frequently banned or challenged, and how to report and fight censorship in your community. You can also order hard-copy bundles of the handbook in our Rewards Zone–expedited shipping available!

If your plans include a book discussion, we also have some free discussion guides for popular banned and challenged graphic novels. And finally, check out our Case Files on specific banned comics. (Many of those are also covered in the handbook.)

We would love to see any displays or other creative uses of these resources for Banned Books Week! Send pics to info@cbldf.org or share with us on Facebook or Twitter.
