This weekend the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund is excited to arrive in the City of Broad Shoulders, to exhibit at C2E2!
We will be in booth 309, with a ton of great stuff new for 2015, including the complimentary first issue of the CBLDF Defender, as well as our exclusive variant cover of the first issue of Dark Horse Comics’ newest hit series, Rebels. This is the first time this cover will be available outside of CBLDF Member Retailers, and it will only be available as supplies last!
For CBLDF Members (and yes, you can join onsite, at the show!), we will have the 2015 Convention Survival Kit. Just show us your member card, and receive a CBLDF branded Tote Bag, Water Bottle, Lanyard, Badge Ribbon, and Hand Sanitizer. This is a “thank you” package for CBLDF members attending C2E2, so if you are a member (or want to join up this weekend!) please swing by Booth 309 and pick yours up!
We will have these items in the booth, as well as our usual array of signed books, t-shirts, and more, all raising money for our ongoing Free Speech advocacy work.
We will also be presenting a brand new panel, CBLDF Presents: Banned Comics 2015, in which Executive Director Charles Brownstein will walk through the latest in banned, challenged, and censored comics. Exclusively at C2E2 Brownstein will be joined by Jarrett Dapier, the University of Illinois GSLIS grad student who recently obtained the release of emails showing Chicago Public Schools officials’ effort to remove Persepolis from classrooms in 2013. This will be Friday, at 3 pm, in Room S405B.
C2E2 takes place April 24 – 26 at the South Building at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. Come support the fight for free speech by visiting CBLDF at booth #309 all weekend!
