Thanks to the amazing support of nearly 1,400 people, She Changed Comics, CBLDF’s history of the women who changed free expression in comics, will become a reality, along with supporting materials, teaching companions, and a teaching tour in support of the book! There’s one day left in the campaign, and we have one more stretch goal in our sites: educational companion videos!

Women have been making comics since the medium’s very beginning, but there’s an important story that hasn’t yet been told: how women changed free expression in comics. Thanks to you, CBLDF will tell that story in She Changed Comics, a full-color, 160-page book coming out this fall! We’ve funded and hit five stretch goals thanks to contributors, but we’d like to take in one step further, providing short educational companion videos in support of the book. But time is short — there’s only one day left in the campaign!

Please back this important project now on Kickstarter! We still have plenty of amazing rewards, including an exclusive, not-available-elsewhere Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab fragrance inspired by Jackie Ormes, signed books, tours of the most amazing comic art collections in the United States, and professional development opportunities with some of the industry’s most legendary and influential editors!

Covering female comics creators from the turn of the 20th century to present day, She Changed Comics will profile more than 60 women who transformed the landscape of free expression and expanded the comics artform. It will also examine the plights of women who have been persecuted for expressing themselves through cartoons and feature interviews with some of the most influential women working in comics today. Because of your support, we will also be able to provide a professional index, digital slide presentation, teaching companions for K-12 and higher education, and a teaching tour in support of the book!

Please support this project today! Contributor rewards range from signed books and art to once in a lifetime opportunities. Creatively inclined backers still have the chance to take their work to the next level with professional development reviews with modern comics authorities Marie Javins (DC Entertainment) and Robyn Chapman (First Second). We also are offering signed books and prints from Alison Bechdel, Phoebe Gloeckner, Neil Gaiman, Noelle Stevenson, Mariko Tamaki, Brian K. Vaughan, and more!

Help us hit our final stretch goal! Please donate at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cbldf/she-changed-comics today! Act now — the campaign ends tomorrow!
